Gold Medal on International Invention and Innovation Show INTARG 2015
The 8th edition of the International Invention and Innovation Show INTARG dedicated to technology transfer and implementation of technical progress ended on Friday 26th of June in Cracow. The show took place in the newly opened modern congress center – ICE Kraków.
The honorary patrons were Lena Kolarska-Bobińska – Minister of Science and Higher Education, Alicja Adamczak – President of the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland, Leszek Rafalski – President of the Main Council of the Research Institutes, Ewa Mańkiewicz-Cudny – President of the Polish Federation of Engineering Associations FSNT-NOT, Krzysztof Jan Kurzydłowski – President of the National Centre for Research and Development, Bożena Lublińska-Kasprzak – President of the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development, Marek Sowa - Marshal of the Małopolska Region, and Jacek Majchrowski – Mayor of Cracow.
The show was accompanied by the conference “From concept to profit”. The conference concentrated on the new funding rules of research for an innovative economy, with a particular focus on the "Intelligent Development" Operational Program, and dissemination of information about the new EU funding perspective and how to get the funds for R&D activities.
The conference was divided into three panel blocks:
- Science and business
- Innovation in practice
- Sources of innovation financing in Poland
There were 100 inventions presented from Poland and countries such as: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Romania, Taiwan, Malaysia and Iran. Exhibitors represented the sphere of science, manufacturing companies, as well as junior high school and university students. The solutions covered various subjects: ecology, medicine, security, aviation, automotive industry and transport, metallurgy, textile industry, machinery and equipment, chemistry, mechanics, engineering, electronics, energy economics, IT etc.
Presented solutions entered the INTARG Show contest, where a group of a dozen or so jurors and experts evaluated them, awarding prizes and medals. On June 26th, 2015, the official results of the contest were announced during a gala and awards, sponsored by the patrons of the event and external institutions, presented to the winners.

- 8 platinum awards in 6 categories – one in each category: the environment, medicine and biotechnology, IT, safety, young inventor and 3 in the broadest category of engineering and industry.
Among the laureates of INTARG 2015 Show there was also the Wood Technology Institute which received a Gold Medal for invention no. EP 2700312 A1 “Method of particleboard protection against fungi and an agent for particleboard protection against fungi” by Jadwiga Zabielska-Matejuk, Juliusz Pernak, Iwona Frąckowiak, Mariusz Kot, and Cezary Andrzejak.
