Project 'Bridging Gaps between R2I in REsource Efficiency and RAw Materials' (RERAM)
In June 2014 the Wood Technology Institute started a project entitled: „Bridging Gaps between R2I in REsource Efficiency and RAw Materials" (RERAM )". The project is co-funded under the EU 7. Framework Programme.
RERAM consortium consists of 11 partners from 4 EU countries (Austria, Germany, Poland, Belgium) and 5 countries included in the European Neighbourhood Policy (Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan). The project brings together research organisations, industry representatives, i.e. entities creating and implementing innovative solutions as well as members of scientific and business networks.
The project's theme concerns management of forests and the wood sector, wood processing technology, cluster and innovation management, technology transfer, sustainable development and environmental management.
The general goals of the project are:
- raising awareness about efficient use of wood raw material resources in primary and secondary wood processing,
- optimizing conversion pathways of wood raw materials in SMEs by introduction of innovative technologies, production processes and planning methods,
- promoting the competitive research potential of innovation clusters by introduction of new business models, cleaner products, and collaborative processes with a focus on ‘living and building with wood',
- enhancing regional to international collaboration in ‘knowledge value chains' by promoting joint actions, transferring knowledge and enhancing outreach between research actors and innovative solutions, delivering instant and tangible results to end user communities.
