Center for Consultation and Submission of Innovation Needs at ITM Polska 2008 Fair
Center for Consultation and Submission of Innovation Needs is a new project, which was executed during ITM Polska fair (Innovation, Technologies, Machines, 9-12 June 2008, PIF, Poznan) and whose aim was to encourage entrepreneurs to use knowledge, experience and potential of Polish scientists. This project was co-financed by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education which has also patronage of the fair.
The project was addressed to the industry, on the one hand, and to scientific units, on the other. Entrepreneurs, both exhibitors and visitors to the ITM Polska, had the opportunity to present their problems and innovation needs and R&D units (including the Wood Technology Institute), state higher education institutions and institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences responded to these needs and suggested possible solutions.
Entrepreneurs had a possibility of submitting their needs through www.nauka.mtp.pl from 5 May to 5 June. Based on the submitted information a potential partner among Polish scientific institutions was searched. Both parties met during the fair and the appointments were made by the Center.

Entrepreneurs had also a chance to submit their needs during the fair at a stall in hall 5 created solely for this purpose. The Center helped the client to define his need and then informed the scientific institutions participating in the fair about the need. If there was an institution ready to help the entrepreneur solve the issue the interested parties met during the fair; if no institution was found at the time of fair the submitted need is stored in a database and possible partner is searched after the fair.
Submission of needs, search of partners before, during and after the fair and participation in meetings were free of charge.
The Center's stall was operated by the Poznan University of Technology employees. The whole initiative was supported by representatives of institutions supporting innovation and technology transfer - the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, General Council of R&D Units, NOT Innovation Center, Polish Agency for Enterprise Development, and Patent Office.
