First Polish Technology Platforms were established in 2004 for construction, aviation and textile industries, whilst on 10th January 2005 in the Ministry of Science and Information Society Technologies a conference entitled “Polish Technology Platforms” was held during which agreements inaugurating operation of another Polish platforms, including the Polish Technology Platform for the Forestry and Wood Sector (PPTSL-D), were entered into.
PPTSL-D supports industry and research units active in the field of forest-wood production by means of cooperation with economic chambers and associations of all branches of woodworking, furniture and pulp and paper industries, Association of Foresters and Wood Technologists, Ministry of Economic Affairs and Labour, Ministry of Science and Information Society Technologies, ministries competent to deal with the economy, science and the environment and with other organizations interested in the forest-wood sector development.
PPTSL-D is a member of the European Forest-Based Sector Technology Platform - FTP.
Łukasiewicz Research Network - Wood Technology Institute – represented by Maria Władyka-Przybylak, DSc (Eng) – acts as a Coordinator of PPTSL-D activities.
The Secretary of the PPTSL-D is Andrzej Fojutowski, Dsc (Eng) from the Łukasiewicz Research Network - Wood Technology Institute.
PPTSL-D is an open organization, which means that new members can join it on the basis of a proper Member’s Declaration
Procedure of joining the Polish Technology Platform for the Forestry and Wood Sector (PPTSL-D) consists of:
- sending completed and signed Mamber's Declaration to the Coordinator,
- approval of the application during a plenary meeting of the Platform upon presenting a brief characteristic of the company,
- signing of PPTSL-D Consortium Agreement.
