On 7th December 2005 members of the Polish Technology Platform for the Forestry and Wood Sector (PPTSL-D) met in the Wood Technology Institute in Poznan
From 15-18 November 2005 POLEKO Fair 2005 was held on the premises of the Poznan International Fair in Poznan.
On 9-10 November 2005 the European Forest-based Sector Research Forumentitled „Innovative and sustainable use of forest resources" took place in Stockholm (Sweden).
On 17th October 2005 members of the Polish Technology Platform for the Forestry and Wood Sector met in the Wood Technology Institute in Poznan.
From 13th to 14th October 2005 a starting meeting of the international project InnovaWood SSA no. 515044 „An innovation strategy to integrate industry needs and research capability in the European Forestry-Wood Chain” within the Sixth Framework Programme took place in Dublin (Ireland).
From 29.09 to 01.10. 2005 the 2nd European Conference of COST Action E31 entitled „Towards a Higher Technical, Economical and Environmental Standards” was held in Bordeaux (France).
From 4th to 9th September 2005 Xth International Conference on the quality of indoor air “Indoor Air 2005” took place in Beijing (China).
From 4th to 6th July 2005 four ITD employees (Jarosław Banecki, PhD, Tomasz Oleszek, Maria Idziak and Piotr Szczęsnowski) participated in training organized by IKEA in Älmhult (Sweden).
VIth Symposium on: „Quaternary ammonium salts and fields of their application in the economy” took place on 30th June 2005 in the Wood Technology Institute in Poznan.
From 20th to 23rd June 2005 the Innovations, Technologies, Machines 2005 Fair was held on the premises of the Poznań International Fair. Within the framework of this Fair the Science for the Economy Exhibition took place.
From 14th to 15th June 2005 a COST Action E44 conference entitled: „Broad Spectrum Utilisation of Wood” took place in Vienna (Austria).
On 8th June 2005 representatives of the European Forest-Based Sector Technology Platform (FTP) and of National Platforms met in Copenhagen.
In 2005 a new makeup of the Poznań International Fair Gold Medal Competition Court for DREMA Fair, MEBLE Fair and OFFICE AND INDOOR EQUIPMENT Fair was appointed. Asst. Prof. Ewa Ratajczak, DSc from the Wood Technology Institute in Poznan was appointed the Court President. Other members of the jury and experts were also appointed.
From 31st May to 3rd June 2005 MEBLE Fair 2005 and DREMA Fair 2005 took place in Poznan on the premises of the Poznań International Fair.

On 25th June 2004 a ceremony of presenting Professor Ryszard Babicki, DSc (Eng), a Full Member of the Polish Academy of Sciences, with an honorary doctorate of the August Cieszkowski Agricultural University of Poznan diploma.
During a special session of the Wood Technology Institute Scientific Council on 30th June 2003, the Chairman of the Agricultural, Forestry and Veterinary Sciences Division of the Polish Academy of Sciences Prof. Andrzej Grzywacz, DSc presented the Institute Director Asst. Prof. Wladyslaw Strykowski, PhD with the Michal Oczapowski Medal.
