On 20th December 2012 the 17th meeting of the Polish Technology Platform for the Forestry and Wood Sector (PPTSL-D) was held in the Wood Technology Institute in Poznan.
The 61st World Exhibition „BRUSSELS INNOVA 2012”, held on 15-17th November, 2012, was devoted to technology transfer and implementation of technological progress. Brussels Innova is one of the most important events for inventions in Europe. Long tradition and recognition of the participants is the reason why awards granted at Brussels Innova command respect, and participation in the events connected with the exhibition is considered simply an obligation by many representatives of science and business.
The three-year project "Recycling of used Wood in Germany and Poland" (ReGaP) was granted financing within the framework of Polish-German cooperation for sustainable development and was commenced in mid-November 2012. Financing institutions are the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (MNiSW) and the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). A competition was organized by the National Research and Development Centre (NCBR) in Poland and the Project Management Agency - part of the German Aerospace Centre (PT-DLR) - in Germany.
On 23th October 2012 the 16th meeting of the Polish Technology Platform for the Forestry and Wood Sector (PPTSL-D) was held in the Wood Technology Institute in Poznan.
The sixth edition of an international invention exhibition - The International Warsaw Invention Show (IWIS 2012), organized by Association of Polish Inventors and Rationalizers, the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland and Warsaw University of Technology, was held on October 16th-19th, 2012, at Warsaw University of Technology.
The Wood Technology Institute celebrated its 60th Anniversary on May 17th, 2012. The main purpose of the celebrations was to present the intellectual and scientific achievements of our institution, as well as to promote research and development in wood science and industry together with the role and significance of the forest-based sector in the Polish and European Union economies, and last, but not least, to tighten cooperation between science sphere and wood-based industries.
The 4th European Economic Congress (EEC) was held on May 14th-16th, 2012, in Katowice.
On 25th April 2012 a meeting during which the economical, organizational and technical conditions of possible implementation of FAO/IPPC/ISPM 15 standards in intra-community trade of wood packaging materials were discussed, was held in the Wood Technology Institute.
On 21st February 2012 a nationwide conference "Sustainable management of forest resources" was held on the premises of Poznan University of Life Sciences.
